Synoptix is fully committed to providing equal opportunities for all employees, workers and job applicants. At Synoptix we aim to create a culture that encourages and values diversity and that appoints, rewards and promotes staff based on merit.
WISE Member
At Synoptix we’re committed to making our workplace and wider industry a diverse and inclusive environment.
As part of our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), we became a member of WISE to seek their expert guidance on how to tackle the gender gap within our industry.
WISE is an EDI organisation that specifically focuses on gender equity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). They offer women-centred support for organisations embarking on their EDI journey, looking at how to improve policies, processes and culture within the workplace to improve gender equality.
We have exclusive access to their online and in-person events, as well as tools and support needed to help us achieve an inclusive workplace.
We have an internal network for female employees and male allies to connect. We hold monthly meetings where we brainstorm ideas of changes, awareness sessions or to plan or attend any upcoming events for women in STEM. We also hold in-person catch-ups over lunch to allow members to meet in a more relaxed setting.
CSR at Synoptix
Corporate Social Responsibility represents our role as a company within the wider community outside of our day-to-day work. This includes how we can improve the company inwards as well as outward facing to our customers, suppliers and the public.
CSR at Synoptix is run by a committee who meet once a month. They are responsible for leading and planning activities within their Pillar including running events and developing articles to raise awareness for key topics.
The committee is spilt into 7 pillars for which events will take place, articles will be shared and key topics that we can support will be highlighted.
- Environmental & Sustainability
- Gender Equality
- LGBTQ+
- General Awareness
- Culture & Diversity
- Disability & Accessibility
- Mental Health & Wellbeing
Support for Returners
When taking career breaks STEM professionals can find the process of returning to work challenging. More specifically Women, who feel that a lack of flexibility in working hours is a barrier to return. At Synoptix we promote an inclusive work environment and aim to support and empower professionals in regaining their confidence as they return to work.
To further support your transition, we also offer:
a ‘return to work’ buddy system to help support this transition for the first few months.
mentorship opportunities with experienced team members which are available initially and throughout your career.
Confidence-building support either through coaching and/or workshops.
We appreciate that not everyone has the same needs when it comes to work life balance, and we will do our best to accommodate individual flexibility. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any flexible working arrangements
Flexible Working Options
We accommodate part time, flexible and hybrid alternatives on our vacancies. We offer tailored onboarding plans to ease re-integration into the workplace. Giving, for example, professionals the option to start on a part time basis and gradually increase to full time hours at their own pace.
Learning & Development Support
We offer all employees access to online Udemy training facility to support learning pathways, using our own, other providers and Udemy training packages. With access a wider range of course, there is the opportunity to develop both technical, soft skills and to help transition back to your former STEM career.
Armed Forces Community
Synoptix represents the opportunity for people to be able to smoothly transition their skills to a civilian environment. We pride ourselves on having a culture of strong unity and collective purpose and are proud of our Silver Armed Forces Covenant award.
